Audrey Luck was born in September 1986 and raised in Florida. Since the age of 4, she knew without a doubt she wanted to work with pregnant people and babies. As a first generation American, education, innovation, persistence, and resilience were concepts instilled in her by her Haitian immigrant parents who had to overcome difficulties of their own in becoming a Chiropractic doctor and a licensed Wholistic practitioner, while raising 4 children.
With that in mind, in 2005, Audrey started her undergraduate studies at Florida State University and majored in Biology and Women’s studies; with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. In 2010, she attended The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery to pursue her lifelong calling of serving women, mothers and babies.
In 2012, Audrey became a mother herself to a strong, smart and kindhearted son William, who was born almost 2 months prematurely at 33 weeks via cesarean section- despite her good health, level of education and access to reproductive resources. Like many Black women birthing in America today, Audrey’s birth experience was subject to social determinants from which she was unable to escape. The issue of Black maternal, infant and family health and wellness is a personal one for Audrey- especially being a statistic in the US healthcare system that she was trained in, birthed in and works in. Her experience catalyzed her curiosity and her need to better understand structural and systemic racism resulting in health disparities for BIPOC birthing people, and how this affects the public health and wellness for all people.
In 2013, Midwife Audrey graduated from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. She was among the first 5 Black students to have graduated in that school’s history and she went on to become one of fewer than 50 Black Licensed Midwives amongst over 400 Licensed Midwives in the state of Florida.
Amid America’s growing maternal health crisis, Midwife Audrey practiced Midwifery in both solo and group settings across the state and found that neither was sustainable as a mother, midwife, and woman in America. Those experiences galvanized her to help: improve the workforce for out of hospital community Midwives; increase the number of BIPOC Midwives in the workforce, and decrease barriers of access to Midwifery Care for Florida Families. So in 2019, she decided to run for Presidency of the Midwives Association of Florida and won- becoming Florida’s First Black President. In her leadership experience she gained leadership skills and legislative experience in policy and bill writing.
In 2020, just before the global Covid pandemic shut down the world, Midwife Audrey did a Midwifery mission trip to Cap-Haitien, Haiti, her dad’s hometown. While volunteering her time and skills, she got to see first hand the invaluable role that community midwives played in providing families with health education, wellness support and Midwifery care, while bridging the gap of limited hospital access and support, high cost of living and a troubled government.
Midwife Audrey has had the privilege of supporting, educating, and empowering thousands of women, mothers, and birth workers at home, birthing centers, and online to navigate their personal and families wellness throughout their lifetime. With over a decade of clinical, leadership and personal experiences, Midwife Audrey has gained essential skills and knowledge of critical components that affect women’s health; maternal, infant, and family health and wellness; and healthcare systems at large.
Midwife Audrey is a Women’s Health and Midwifery Expert; a Family Wellness Educator; and Advocate for all Human Beings. She aims to improve: birth equity and health outcomes for all people through increased access to community wellness through: the elevation of birth, birthing people and increased access to BIPOC birthworkers; enabling community education and discourse about Midwifery and Family Wellness Practices; and the empowerment of Mothers and community Midwives through advocacy, education, and leadership.
Seeing that our world was in trouble and wanting better for her son, herself, her friends and family, the women and children she helped bring into this world, she realized there was no time to wait for someone else to make things better. Midwife Audrey saw the power she had to effect positive social change and decided to break systemic molds and become an active catalyst for those changes. She decided to put her time and energy into being the hero that she was waiting for and use her superpowers to make the world a better place not just for those she knows and loves but for everyone. No one is truly free, safe and secure until all people regardless of where you live or are born are free, safe and secure.
On Dec 24, 2021 Midwife Audrey resigned her position as a Staff Midwife to transform her life to be in alignment with her unique gifts and further develop her other superpowers. Over the following 2 years she discovered and unlocked superpowers of music, speaking, singing, and songwriting.
In 2022, Midwife Audrey and her Partner MYLS created the music band named “Real Life Superhero” (formally known as The LOVENGERS) after their personal work and missions. Wanting global transformation, Midwife Audrey and MYLS knew they alone cannot do the job. As Artists, Transformational Speakers, and humanitarians, they set out to help people discover and unlock the superpowers within using their unique gifts of music and storytelling to ELEVATE Spirits; EDUCATE Minds; and EMPOWER Everybody to be the heroes we’ve been waiting for with collaborative equity community fundraising events, projects and other collaborations that fund positive social change in communities locally and globally through the joint actions of a superhero network of creators, companies and aligned nonprofit organizations and individuals that work to positively transform the world into a better place.
In 2024, They created a platform called LOVE CORPS whose mission is to ELEVATE, EDUCATE, and EMPOWER us all to be the heroes we’ve been waiting for and together using our unique gifts we can “Transform Tomorrow into a Beautiful Place for Everyone”. This platform features community discourse, action through activism and volunteering, and personal development/transformation content that helps one discover and unlock the superpowers within- through music, videos, podcast, multimedia content, workshops, webinars, and live and online events.
Midwife Audrey’s mission is to Mother and Midwife a New World of abundance, health and wellness for all people- in balance with our planet, free of oppression, violence, and scarcity, regardless of where they were born or live...because “The Quality of Every Life Matters.”
Today, Midwife Audrey spends her time happily living her #superherolife using her unique gifts: as an advocate for all humans, healer, humanitarian, Mother, Midwife, Midwifery and family wellness educator, social entrepreneur, transformational speaker, artist, musician, singer, songwriter, and podcaster to Transform Tomorrow into a Beautiful Place for Everyone.
Miles was born on February 23rd, 1984 in Colorado. He spent his childhood fighting for his life in hospitals with his mother by his side. Like children often do when facing life-threatening adversity, Miles drew strength and inspiration from the example of “heroes” like Luke Skywalker and Superman. He began the long journey of recovery throughout his adolescence as he endeavored to pursue Music, Foreign Language and Academic achievement. Seeing his ongoing interest in music, Miles’ mother taught him the basics and encouraged his creative voice. He began writing, producing and performing music in high school. He studied French and Spanish, he helped to establish a local student-run Nonprofit Organization; and during his senior year, Miles created and performed in a custom fundraising concert event with the help of a few classmates.
After graduating high school in 2002, he attended college part time in Buffalo, NY while working and producing music. After achieving commercial radio airplay with the single “I Bleed” (written by Miles and performed with his band Now or Never), he completed his AS in Business Administration in 2007.
Miles was highly motivated to achieve financial success with his gifts. He moved to Nashville, TN that year, where he continued working on music, picked up a job at a local restaurant and even faced homelessness briefly. His mother had given so much to him and she was not doing well; so Miles hoped he might be able to give her a safe and peaceful life. Before he was able to realize this goal, his mother died in December of 2007. Her death was as devastating as it was preventable. This painful dissonance would catalyze his inquisition into the “big problems” facing our world. His venture of independent study covered a wide range of subjects- from Economics and Mythology to Biology and History, and more. Miles continued recording and producing original music with acoustic vocal trio Third Wheel Tuesday. The group developed a following, performed on local cable TV, and toured the country.
In 2012, Miles began a new journey as a solo producer and recording artist, playing at bars and restaurants up and down the Florida Gulf Coast. Miles also stepped into parenthood as a stepfather- an experience which refined and informed his framework for personal transformation. While focusing on his family, Miles continued producing and releasing music in his spare time. In 2014, Miles produced an EP with fellow local musicians to benefit music programs in local schools- raising nearly $1000 with CD sales. During this time, Miles was also confronting the grim reality of lifelong chronic pain- a consequence of the life-saving surgeries he endured as a child. The struggle reached the point of suicidal ideation in late 2015. Motivated by his family, Miles worked through this dark time with his music, as he had done since adolescence.
In 2020, Miles and partner Audrey made a mission trip to Haiti. Audrey volunteered at a birth center in Cap-Haitien, while Miles focused on cultural outreach, supporting Audrey and making friends in the community. Having heard conflicting stories about Haiti, he took care to observe conditions on the ground- seeking to better understand the realities of life for people there. After a transformative week, which saw great failures and incredible successes, they returned home with an idea. Maybe they could scale up the fundraising and allyship work Miles had begun in his youth.
Together, Audrey and Miles formed a new band called “Real-Life Superheroes” with a new mission- to use Arts, Athletics, Academics and Allyship to ELEVATE, EDUCATE and EMPOWER their community to discover and unlock the “superpowers” within; so together, we can all Transform Tomorrow into a Beautiful Place for everyone.
Today Miles has a new look and a new purpose. Now known publicly as “MYLS - Artist/Academic/Ally”, this “Real-Life Superhero” continues writing, producing and performing music with Partner “Midwife Audrey”. He also does graphic design, website design, video production, merchandising and event planning for “Real-Life Superheroes”. The duo offer music, podcasts, a FREE online community and live performances. Their platform is called LOVE CORPS. In addition to their work as Artists and Transformational Speakers, Midwife Audrey and MYLS organize and appear in Cooperative Equity Development projects and events with other “everyday heroes”- including individuals and nonprofit organizations who are already working to support and serve human beings in their community. MYLS has also curated music and video playlists on Spotify and YouTube respectively.
Additionally, “MYLS” is developing a new YouTube channel exploring Truth, LOVE and Humanity. On the channel, he will explore these subjects in video essays, music, film and in dialogue on other platforms, stages and podcasts. He continues developing and sharing tools needed to “become the heroes we've been waiting for”.
Our world is in trouble and it's not going to fix itself. If we want to build a better world for everyone, it's not enough for us to just “win” anymore. “The WAY We Win Matters”.
